Are
You Crucified?
I don't know about
you but I really
enjoyed resurrection
day this year. I
hear God clearly
saying, "It's not
over. Don't leave.
The party is just
starting." Before
we continue the
celebration, let's
first understand how
God views the
results of the
cross. This will be
necessary so that we
can see and know we
are crucified with
Christ.
In Deuteronomy
21:23,
the Bible refers to
the cross as a tree--you
must not leave his
body on the tree
overnight. Be sure
to bury him that
same day, because
anyone who is hung
on a tree is under
God's curse. You
must not desecrate
the land the LORD
your God is giving
you as an
inheritance.
The tree (cross) is
a place of reproach
and shame, unlike
the way it is used
today as a symbol of
bling. God used
this element of
shame to redeem us
from the curse of
violating His laws.
I
know you are
thinking, wait a
minute, I did not
break the law.
Well, you cannot be
blessed if you don't
accept your mess.
Jesus was treated
like the worse
criminal that ever
existed. God
allowed all of our
pride, lust,
jealousy,
selfishness and
rebellion to be
nailed to the
cross. Once you
have personally
accepted that Jesus
died for you on the
cross, you will have
victory over all
temptation and sin.
